Lake mum case appeal
VICTORIA’S DPP is appealing to the High Court over a decision to cut the jail term for a woman who killed three of her children.
Akon Guode was jailed for over 26 years, with a minimum 20 years, for murdering her four-year-old twins, killing her 16-month-old son and trying to murder a fourth child by driving them into a lake in 2015.
The term was reduced on appeal to 18 years, with a minimum of 14 years. Director of Public Prosecutions Kerri Judd QC has filed an application to appeal the decision.
