‘Play it straight’

MOSSMAN skipper Wayne Christensen has a simple message for the clubs playing at their course for the second round of the season this weekend — hit the golf ball straight. Gordonvale Golf Club hosted the opening round for the 2018 season last weekend as the tournament heads north to Mossman for Round 2. “They need to keep it very straight,” Christensen said when asked about what clubs need to do well at his course. “The 14th, 15th and 16th holes are around a corner, and there is lots of trees and out of bounds.” “There is lots of trouble and if you do not hit it straight there, you are going to have all kinds of issues.” Half Moon Bay golf club got off to a hot start in the first round of the 2018 Golf World Cairns FNQGA Pennant Season, winning all three grades over rivals Mossman.
