IN A BETTER PLACE

CHANGE HELPS MICAELA MOVE AHEAD

-

TWO years ago, Micaela Jackson was unemployed and struggling with anxiety and depression.

Now, the 20-year-old says she is “in a much better place”.

“I felt under a lot of pressure to find work and also deal with other personal issues,” she says. “Not having the security of a job and financial independence was very stressful.”

Jackson decided to take on a major life change and, with her two dogs, moved to Sydney in search of work.

Not-for-profit employment services organisation Workskil Australia partnered with human resources company Drake International in assisting Jackson with her relocation as well as providing pre-employment programs and training.

She now works as an administration officer with a logistics company.

“Looking back, the move wasn’t easy but with help I have now settled into a new job and a new life,” she says.

“I’m so happy with where I am and I feel supported.”
