Kewarra project gaining traction

The move was opposed by Division 9 Councillor Brett Olds and since then he has vowed to keep residents up to date with the project.

Hosting a community meeting last night, he said residents’ concerns had sparked up again recently after “some basic earth works” started at the site.

“The residents out there aren’t very keen on it because they think it’s going to be Legoland and a future ghetto,” he said.

“That land was always intended to be residential, to be built on and all we’re hoping for is to get a better outcome then what was originally proposed.

“I’ve got the old proposal and the current proposal, which still hasn’t been approved, and there are a lot of improvements already that have happened.

“I’m hoping that the majority will understand what’s going on, because when you communicate with people they feel more confident.”
