Postie digs up old bag
WHEN Angela Dimond had her handbag snatched at a railway station in Hertfordshire in 1980, she hoped police might catch the mugger and return it.
But when officers confirmed they couldn’t find the thief, she gave up hope.
Roll forward nearly 40 years and she had a knock at the door from a postman.
Mike Izzard, 45, was planting daffodil bulbs by a disused railway station when he dug out an old halfpenny coin, the bag, Ms Dimond’s ID and a front door key.
He posted the find on social media and found the owner.
