A BABY koala has travelled more than 5000km from Perth to Cairns to find a new home at a Far Northern zoo.Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas has welcomed its newest resident, a 12-month-old joey named Marri. The koala’s name has been derived from a species of eucalyptus trees native to her home state of WA. Wildlife Habitat wildlife manager Rabecca Lynch said the zoo could not be happier with the arrival of their fluffy new resident. “We’re really happy with how the move went — Marri is adapting really well, she’s a very comfortable and confident kind of koala, also very relaxed and curious about her new home.”
