’Unlimited’ green waste

CASSOWARY Coast Regional Council is accepting unlimited green waste as it urges residents to get ready in the lead-up to storm season.

As part of the Cassowary Coast Clean Up initiative, selfhauling residents can dump green waste free of charge at most CCRC transfer stations.

Mayor John Kremastos said residents should be looking to see what they need to do around their homes and yards to be prepared.

“The annual storm season has already begun,” he said.

“This means getting out in the yard and cutting back trees, overhanging branches, shrubs and bushes, cleaning out your gutters, and making sure you have cleaned up anything that could count as debris or loose materials.”

The Cassowary Coast Clean Up runs until December 17.
