‘Born again’ terror plotter
A CONVICTED Sydney terror plotter has denied he’s only pretending to have renounced Islam and found Christianity in a bid for a lighter sentence.
The denial by Sameh Bayda, 21, came at his sentence hearing in the NSW Supreme Court yesterday.
Bayda and Alo-Bridget Namoa were found guilty in October of conspiring to prepare for a terrorist act.
Yesterday he denied the prosecutor’s suggestion that “your assertion you have found Christianity is no more than a pretence to mitigate the penalty”.
