ON NEWCOMERS AND OLD MATES

-

Q You were back home in Innisfail a few months ago for a Cassowary Coast Cyclones (right) sign-on session at the Goondi Bend Sports Complex. It must have been nice to get back?

A I spent a week there, one of my best friends still lives in Innisfail, so it was nice to see him and it was the same time as the new cricket sea- son, so it worked well. It was great to see the local kids come out and have a good afternoon. They were enjoying cricket. It was nice to switch the thinking from rugby league to cricket at that time of year. I was fortunate to make lots of great memories playing cricket there and hopefully they can too. Hopefully there is a few future stars in the ranks in Innisfail.

Q Just lastly Ben on Tim Paine, he would be a mate of yours from Tasmania, how do you see his performance as the new captain?

A Tim lives just one street over from me so we have a great relationship. It has been awesome to see his rise. No one works harder than Tim. His work ethic is huge and that is one of his strengths as a leader.
