WITH so many high-quality TV dramas being produced here in Australia and overseas, viewers have more options than ever.

If you’ve found your mustwatch list growing, rather than shrinking, then the summer holidays are the perfect time to catch up on the Foxtel shows that friends, family and colleagues have recommended.

Here are some of the best shows of 2018 you may have missed.

Big Little Lies

Based on Australian author Liane Moriarty’s best-selling novel of the same name, this seven-part drama follows the apparently perfect lives of three mothers of first-graders as they unravel to the point of murder.

Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgard and Zoe Kravitz star in this Emmywinning show, with Meryl Streep set to join the cast for season two.

Fighting Season

This acclaimed modern Aussie war drama centres on a group of returned servicemen and their families as they suffer the effects of war and the fallout from the death of a mate in Afghanistan under suspicious circumstances.

Mr Inbetween

This offbeat, dark Aussie comedy about a hitman trying to balance family life with his work in the criminal underworld has struck a chord in the US, with The Hollywood Reporter hailing it as “one of 2018’s best shows”.

Picnic at Hanging Rock

This surreal reimagining of Jon Lindsay’s novel of the same name depicts the mysterious disappearance of three schoolgirls and their governesses on Valentine’s Day in 1900 from the perspectives of different characters.

Other shows include Pose, Mayans MC, Vanity Fair, My Brilliant Friend, Sharp Objects. To sign up call 1300 020 531.
