TAKE a walk across one of the Far North’s hidden gems. Cape Kimberley forms the northern boundary of the 12km wide bay into which the Daintree River flows. Between the river mouth and the cape is the 3.5km long Cape Kimberley Beach. The beach faces southeast, directly into the Trades, with a view of Snapper Island 2.5km offshore. The beach is accessible by the 10km long Cape Kimberley Rd that runs out to the cape from the Daintree ferry, skirting the extensive floodplain and swamp that backs the beach. Walking the beach is easy and stress-free, with a view of the Daintree River waiting for you at the end.
