RACE ONE

SHUNTER The Stephen Potiris gelding is the class horse in the race, although he is firstup. The three-year-old scored two stylish wins last preparation, including a victory by 3.5 lengths at Cannon Park on Cairns Cup Day.

RACE TWO

MAITRE DEE Two top-three finishes since arriving in the Far North have the mare ready to win today. She was run down by Countless Rock in late November and should find this race easier.

RACE THREE

WILL HE TORQUE The Benchmark 50 Handicap looks a race between Will He Torque and Rodney Miller’s Voltaic. Both won on TAB days at Cairns in late 2018. Kerry Rockett is riding as well as any jockey in the north so we will stick with Will He Torque.

RACE FOUR

BOLD KINGSTON The four-year-old was sharp winning at Cairns three starts back over 1400m. The gelding has put in two encouraging runs since then in tough company. He ran well in the Johnstone River Handicap and is one to follow on his home track.

RACE FIVE

COUSIN MUSCLES Innisfail’s Potiris could be on the way to a very nice day on his home track. This five-year-old won over 1400m at Townsville two starts back and has a strong record over 1500m, running second twice from two starts.
