With sweeping views across the Whitfield Range and across to the Cairns CBD, this property features an innovative design.

WHEN Tim and Tracey Davis began planning on 20 Bel-Air Drive over 10 years ago, they wanted to make something new and different that would use the Whitfield block to the fullest.

Working in conjunction with award-winning designer Tony Lawson of Lawson Design, Edge Hill, what they eventually built and came to call home manages to be spacious, luxurious and refreshing all at once.

Now the Davis family is looking to move, and the house they and their children have spent the last six years in, is for sale.

“We wanted a property that wasn’t average – my husband’s a carpenter/engineer, he built it to incredible standards,” Mrs Davis said.

“From the street you can’t see much of the property and it looks unassuming, but as you enter the house via the carport, it opens up to a spectacular view of the Whitfield range.”

The design uses movable glass walls to add to the sense of space, allowing for beautiful views across the Cairns CBD to Trinity Inlet.

It features abundant internal space with two living areas, four bedrooms, an office nook and two and half bathrooms spreading across three levels.

Practical features include split-system airconditioning, ample storage options, internal laundry and car accommodation for four vehicles.

The home has been nomninated for the 2019 Australian Design Awards.

Mrs Davis said the family would consider offers from about $1.1 million, negotiable with the agent.
