HORROR CASE OF NEGLECT

-

THE RSPCA was called after an emaciated and ill dog was spotted at a White Rock home. The staffy could barely walk, its nails were so long they had curled over and it was suffering from a bad skin condition. No veterinary help had been sought. It is understood the owner had considered having the dog put down but believed it would cost thousands. It was seized by the RSPCA and taken to a vet, who found the dog’s stomach was full of tumours. It was euthanised on humane grounds. “That one was probably one of the worst cases of neglect… it was a hard one to see,” regional inspector Ben Newman said.
