Why this place has an Edge

- ALICIA NALLY alicia.nally@news.com.au

AFTER living at Mission Beach for 20 years, Nicola Smith was craving a safe place to live in busy Cairns.

For her, and many others, according to realestate.com.au data, Edge Hill fits the bill perfectly.

“I’ve been renting a place in Edge Hill for a year now,” she said. “I liked the vibe, I can’t fault it.

“I live right behind the main street, it’s well lit, there’s always people walking around.

“A lot of people might not like that, but I do.”

Ms Smith said the proximity to cafes and shops was also favourable.

“I live five paces from a sushi joint, there is a convenience store across the road, there’s Lulubelle’s for shopping, what more do you want?” she added.

The Red, Yellow, Green and Blue Arrow walking tracks and Cairns Botanical Gardens also gave the area a great feel, she said.

“I’m not surprised it's the most popular place to rent,” Ms Smith said.

“That’s exactly the feeling I got when I came to Cairns.”
