NOMINATE WHO YOU THINK SHOULD BE NAMED REGION’S TOP TRADIE

- PETER CARRUTHERS peter.carruthers@news.com.au

WORKING in a finishing trade, attention to detail is key and being picky is a real advantage on the job.

Which is a good fit for 29year-old wall and floor tiler, Kelly Wilson, who enjoys taking pride in the renovation work she has been taking on.

“There is creativity involved in it and it is a finishing trade, so it’s a trade you have to be quite pedantic and neat, that is what drew me to tiling,” she said.

“By the time we leave the job is nearing the end of renovations and you get to see the finished product and it’s nice to see what you have done.”

Ms Wilson did not have to think too long when asked whose name she would put for- ward as FNQ’s Top Tradie.

“My old boss, Ian Beynon who put me through my apprenticeship, I would definitely consider nominating. He is the best tradie I have ever met,” she said.

To nominate a tradie, email their name, profession and a few words about what makes them great to editorial@cairnspost.com.au, using “FNQ’s Top Tradie” as the subject line.
