TIGHT FOCUS ON TROPICAL HEALTH

The Cairns Tropical Enterprise Centre focuses on digital health transformation and gives a dedicated home to the Tropical Australian Academic Health Centre

It will focus on tropical disease research, using digital monitoring to help chronically ill patients in remote areas, and interacting with smaller tropical cities the world over

It will also partner with a secondary school, likely Cairns State High School, to deliver a STEM, language and Internet of Things-intensive curriculum

The CTEC Innovation Exchange would be “the public access interface for the technologies, tools and expertise that are held within JCU that are available to industry and entrepreneurs”.

It may also include a medical hotel in order to capitalise on the growing global meditourism phenomenon
