IS your new feathered friend proving to be more of a challenge than you expected? Have you been a dedicated bird lover for years but looking to learn some new tricks. Boongarry Vet Surgery is holding a bird behaviour workshop, called Taming the Toddler Tantrums, designed to help you understand your bird better and handle them when they start getting uppity. This workshop, recommende­d especially for parrot owners and breeders, addresses some of the common behavioura­l issues experience­d with parrots at home and in captivity and aims to provide tips for all situations. It will cover such topics as understand­ing natural behaviour, behavioura­l enrichment, basic handling and managing common issues. Whether you’re a new parrot parent, have one pet bird or 20, there will be something for you to take away from this workshop. Being held at Boongarry Vet Surgery, 1 Aeroglen Drive, January 31, 4.30-6pm.
