Second Aloisi in Roar exit

-

BRISBANE Roar assistant Ross Aloisi is the latest to leave the struggling A-League club, following brother and former head coach John out the door.

A right-hand man to his brother at the Roar since 2015, Aloisi was overlooked for the interim head coaching role for newcomer Darren Davies when John stepped down late last year.

Like John, Ross had been contracted to the Roar until 2020.

It is understood a settlement was reached and he informed players of his departure, effective immediately, at training yesterday.

“I want to thank the owners, management, supporters, football department and the players for their support over the past few years,” he said.

“It has been an honour and privilege to work for this great club … and I take great pride in making the finals each season, qualifying for the AFC Champions League and going within a point of winning the Premiers’ Plate. I wish everyone associated with the Brisbane Roar the best ….”

The Roar have gone nine games without a win this season and were thumped in a club-worst 5-0 loss to Melbourne Victory on Tuesday night. They travel to Central Coast tomorrow.
