For Carroll, it’s not over yet

AI briefly played under him and I’ve known him for a while. I more played against him in the W-League when he was coaching Sydney FC. I have been out of the Matildas for a few years now, obviously I know some of the girls but I could not really comment on what has happened recently. Sam Kerr is the only one of us at Perth Glory in the national team at the moment. They were a bit shocked I think.

Not going into the situation behind the scenes but did you feel Stajcic was a good football coach?

AHe was successful with the Sydney girls when he coached them and obviously had success with the Matildas as well. What has gone on behind closed doors, I could not tell you.

AShe has always been a good player but over the last couple of years she has really settled on and off the field, that is where her qualities are coming from. She is very well deserving of where she is at the moment. Her brother was a very good footballer too.
