Drug patrols capture 200
INCREASED patrols around an inner-Melbourne suburb have led to police making almost 200 arrests for drug trafficking in less than a year.
Officers on foot, bike and in car patrols have stepped up their watch over Richmond and surrounding areas to tackle the distribution of illicit substances in a suburb notorious for drug problems.
Police have made 196 arrests since last July.
“We will continue to strongly focus on those criminals who prey on the vulnerable,” Victoria Police Yarra Local Area Commander Inspector Anne Rudd said.
