TSZYU’S CHILLING WARNING

- JAMIE PANDARAM

TIM Tszyu has issued a chilling warning to his super-welterweight rivals after rising in the world rankings.

“I’m getting stronger,” he said. It can be revealed that, when the WBO unveils its latest rankings next week, Tszyu will be installed as No.1 contender to champion Brian Castano.

Tszyu, 26, is coming off a firstround drilling of Kiwi Bowyn Morgan, finishing the fight with an overhand right that sent his opponent off his feet but declared his next opponent, Dennis Hogan, will feel more force.

“I’ll be bigger and stronger in my next fight, that’s for sure,” Tszyu said.

“I’m already feeling it. I can feel it in my punches during my sparring, everything is on track.

“I’m growing, weight cuts are going to be harder, of course, but I’m growing and getting bigger and stronger.

“Everything I’ve been doing is the same but we’re just increasing the load. Instead of running a certain amount of kilometres, I can run more now. I can do more within my rounds now, everything is increasing in my body.”

Tszyu (17-0, 13KO) will be in line for Castano’s belt should he beat Hogan (28-3-1, 7KO) on March 31 in Newcastle.

“I haven’t reached the goal yet, the No.1 position is good, but not good enough,” Tszyu said. “The ultimate is to be the champ.

“It’s definitely a tick off the bucket list, something that many people dream about. To be in a position where I’m this close to having the belt around my waist, everything is real close now.’’
