Giving COVID-19 vaccinations to athletes going to Tokyo Olympics before the real working people of Australia is a crime. Do they contribute to our lives? Not mine. Won’t be watching. There are more important things in life.

With winter beginning to bite on the Tablelands I’m starting to think maybe the sun does control the planet’s temperature after all.

Be aware. If you are expecting a parcel from overseas and receive an official looking text stating your parcel is waiting for you and will be delivered once a customs fee is paid, this is a hoax.

“Kidston ramps up” (CP 30/4). The only reason Kidston hasn’t been blocked by green activists is because it’s a remote mine site. Try to build a dam for pumped hydro to store intermittentlygenerated renewable electricity in any coastal mountain range and the prorenewables activist greenies will block

Regarding the “lifeline for exports” (CP 30/4). Yes, it’s a great idea to export from Cairns. But it should not be propped up with government assistance. If it is not viable by July then it needs to be canned. it. If they really wanted clean reliable affordable electricity they would lobby for American nuclear power stations.

Broncos’ Karl Morris to give Walters full control to hire and fire and back him fully. We’ll see in two years time. Realistic, Woree

Joe Biden got 81 million votes but only 11.6 million people watched his State of the Union address (according to Forbes). Broken promises have wrecked his popularity. He has pivoted to the extreme radical left in the past 100 days and that’s not what people voted for.

Democrat, Cairns

Dominic, you are probably right, as it is in Europe nuclear energy will be the main source of power and I hope we have it here as well, because solar and wind will never cut it.

Robbo, Gordonvale

Terry Goldsworthy paints a dire picture for law-abiding citizens who work hard for their possessions (CP 30/4). The stats are in and they don’t look good or bode well for a reduction in car theft and home break-ins. I’m guessing the only winners are locksmiths and home security providers. I hope our local members read the article and make some serious changes, the locals are fed up with your lack of action.

Beth, Kanimbla

Neither side of politics has any plan to develop northern Australia (CP 30/04). There’s just not enough votes up here to warrant weathering the inevitable hysterical response from the Greens to any concrete development proposal. The NAIF has been nothing but an exercise in lip service and window dressing. Neither ALP nor LNP deserve another vote from northern Australia. Higgs, Tolga
