RACE 3 (1300M)

How do they match the superior form lines that Brad brings here? They quite possibly don’t but as they say, weight can stop a train so we must look for some dangers to add into the quaddie as insurance. It was great to see Mason’s Chance back to winning form at Emerald. Despite it being harder here, he is a horse that can hold form when he finds it. Ammoudi Bay is an interesting addition to the Olivia Cairns stable; his Victorian form is quite strong despite some recent failures. If you get the first leg jitters, throw Elle A Walking into your numbers with no weight on his back. SELECTIONS: 1 Brad, 3 Mason’s Chance, 2 Ammoudi Bay, 6 Elle A Walking

RACE 4 NQ CLASSIC 3YO & 4YO BMK 65 HCP (1800M)

Looks a race ready made for Boombrasstic. He goes up to the 1800m, but it shouldn’t pose too many problems and I think 60kg against this lot is fair. He should be winning, and by a margin. Ollie’s Stand may pose a danger of sorts with a big pull in the weights and a clever Chris Whiteley ride. However she also remains an unknown at the trip. Geoffroy looks to be the only slim winning chance hope in the race, he may be able to roll along on speed with no weight and has had a go at the journey in the past, albeit unsuccessfully.

SELECTIONS: 1 Boombrasstic, 2 Ollie’s Stand, 3 Geoffroy

RACE 5 SCHNEIDER ELEC. CLASS 3 PLATE (1300M)

What a great little race which should prove to be a battle royal. Extremely hard to split Hurricane Fighter and Mocial Chief at the top. However I just have a slight leaning towards Hurricane Fighter who could not have been any more impressive in winning here last start. He has the tougher of the barrier draws but looks hard to beat. Mocial Chief however has a fair bit of upside. He has been in great form this preparation and is drawn to get all the favours from gate one. Chances also need to be given to both Kaaydeh and Kahaylaan, who

were both impressive winning last start.

SELECTIONS: 1 Hurricane Fighter, 2 Mocial Chief, 4 Kaaydeh, 3 Kahaylaan

RACE 6 NEXANS OLEX BMK 55 HCP (1100M)

Scent of Fear is the one dropping right back in grade here, drawn to get the perfect run with a gun ride expected from Ash Butler. She is a mare who has been performing admirably against much harder opposition and should be a great chance to return to the winner’s circle here. Wren Plucked is getting up there where it hurts with 59kg to carry but she is a mare that simply flies in this grade over the shorter trips. Gracious Garcon is resuming here. He has a great record at the track and can run a big race fresh. I have to slot One More Field into my quaddie numbers on the back of a dominant but overdue win last start. SELECTIONS: 4 Scent of Fear, 2 Wren Plucked, 1 Gracious Garcon, 3 One More Field
