FOR someone under the age of 35 and starting a business as a sole trader to expanding to four outlets with a strong team of professionals, Kyle Richardson of FNQ Podiatry & Orthotics has made a huge impact in the Cairns community.

It’s for this reason he won the BEX Emerging Leader Award, sponsored by JCU College of Business, Law and Governance, which acknowledges an individual aged 18-35 who has demonstrated strong professional development.

“It was a huge honour to win this award and a big surprise,” Mr Richardson said. “Even though it is an individual award, I want to thank the entire team at FNQ Podiatry and Orthotics. I wouldn’t have won it without them.”

Mr Richardson started his first clinic six years ago by himself and now has four clinics and 14 staff.

FNQ Podiatry & Orthotics offers an extensive range of podiatry services for the entire family, with a particular focus on sports-related injuries to the lower limb and foot.

“Over the last 12-18 months, a lot of businesses have been struggling,” he said.

“For businesses to come together for the awards night was great for everyone to catch up and talk with like-minded people.

“There’s only really positives to draw from that.”
