SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON IMAI
QUEENSLAND’S racing fashion winner has shown a winning look can come from anywhere – even the Spotlight clearance section.
After entering the Myer Fashions on the Field competition for 10 years, Gold Coast’s Milano Imai has finally been named the state winner at this year’s national competition for her bespoke dress, which she had made by a dressmaker. “It is an absolute dream come true … having the chance to represent my state and compete for the national title is so exciting,” Ms Imai said.
“After weeks of searching for the perfect fabric, I found this beautiful blue and green paisley fabric covered in clear sequins in the clearance section at Spotlight. My amazing dressmaker whipped it up into a dress.”
Imai as well as Brisbane’s
Luke Falkner were selected as Queensland’s state winners of the Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn competition by an expert panel of judges including Carrie Bickmore, Kris Smith and Kate Waterhouse.
The pair will represent the state at the national women’s and men’s racewear competitions, with the winner to be announced live on Kennedy Oaks Day on November 4.
