PARENTAL GUIDANCE
RE: DAVID Harbone (CP, 18/2).
Parents always have responsibility for children and good parenting means discipline.
Your interpretation of Child Services intervening when you discipline your child is not correct.
Physical and verbal abuse is not the answer to effective discipline or parenting.
Parameters and appropriate-toage restrictions (such as restricted screen time) delivered in a kind, loving but firm manner will lead to an independent, well-behaved adult.
Parental example, guidance and loving discipline and time spent with your child and encouraging and supporting their activities will lead to a great respectful parent/ child relationship.
Children everywhere are growing up to be involved happy adults without the need for physical punishment.
Behaviour begins at home. Parents’ behaviour sets the example for children to follow. Helen Myhill, Edge Hill
