Dassler was the founder of the sportswear company Puma. He is the older brother of Adidas founder, Adolf Dassler. The brothers were partners in a shoe company but went their separate ways after a dispute and founded their own companies.

Rafferty’s career stretched from the 1930s until his death in 1971. He performed regularly in Australian films as well as British and American productions. Rafferty appeared in commercials in the 1950s encouraging British emigration to Australia.
