AGE OF ENTITLEMENT

-

I AM reading letters in the Cairns Post and comments from politicians both existing and would-bes in relation to the budget and cannot conceal my disgust at most of this.

We have become a nation of “what’s in it for me?” and a “me, me, me” population.

Nobody appears to be able to fend for themselves, wanting government to be responsible for all aspects of our lives and for the cost of same.

Well you should be aware that with Covid support packages and other recent disasters, the government is at the bottom of the financial barrel, the money tree is bare of leaves.

Government coffers will not now recover for some years, so get used to it and hope that we do not suffer another serious blow for quite a while, as there is little left to cover any such event.

We have lived in the Age of Entitlement for far too long and the chickens have now come home to roost.
