Sore Seahawks to bounce back

-

YARRABAH’S first stop in their Cairns District Rugby League title defence could not have gone worse but coach Eddie Prior Snr will welcome back some key men as the Seahawks seek their first win of the season.

The Seahawks have put the 72-12 thrashing by Mossman-Port Douglas behind them, with all focus on Sunday’s road trip to Atherton and a few handy returns.

Premiership-winning halfback Charles Murgha has been named to wear the No. 7 on his back, while former Sharks premiership winning player-coach Brian Murgha has been named but is awaiting his clearance.

Yarrabah coach Eddie Prior Snr said the team was still a few weeks away from being full strength, but is happy with who he has got on deck on Sunday.

“We were missing nine or 10 blokes last week, so it was good to give our younger fellas a go and see who stands up,” he said.

“It’s a big boost for the boys, having Charlie back. They look up to him, and he brings a lot of leadership and talk to the team.”

His return allows for Ammiel Harris to shift to his primary role of hooker.

Kick-off is at 3pm.
