Islamic centre expands

MAREEBA Islamic Society has had its plans to expand its facilities at Walsh St approved. The land owned by Shaban Latif, Angel Kochi and Skender Murat has Islamic Centre education buildings. The Mareeba Islamic Society will expand its primary and secondary schools for up to 35 students and involves building a second floor on the existing education building. “We expect up to 35 children to be using the centre for a short term of two years, during which time more permanent premises can be arranged,” the report stated.
