BE ALARMED, NOT ARMED

BOB Katter wants to arm our children to boost regional security. He’s right, we face a threat, but picks the wrong one.

Our security services have identified climate change as a growing cause of regional instability. The IPCC report released earlier this week covered the policies and mechanisms, like pricing carbon, needed to limit warming to the 2C goal of the global agreement.

Youth should be alarmed, not armed. We voters need to protect their futures by choosing candidates who support

renewables, not those flogging off fossil fuels.
