YOU POST THAT LOVIN’ FELINE

- YASHEE SHARMA

NO LUXURY is too much for these quirky FNQ cat lovers who shower their feline companions with anything from fashion shows and hammocks to weekly brunches and trendy clothes.

Smithfield’s business icon, Meeko, a ragdoll mix, was adopted by Hannah Boon in 2018 and worked very hard to land the chief office cat role at his mum’s company, Boon Creative.

“He’s very cheeky, I named him after the raccoon from Pocahontas,” she said.

“Meeko means mischievous.”

Ms Boon said she dressed Meeko up in her housemate’s pet clothes, took a Christmas Santa photo each year and made sure to celebrate his birthday with treats and toys.

“Cats are so entertaining,” she said.

Redlynch Valley’s Tarnie Crow and her eight-year-old daughter, Mila, keep their rescue cats, Axis and Bella, entertained with laser pointers and empty boxes from the packages they receive in the mail.

“(Bella) likes getting out to explore,” Mila said.

“One time she nearly hopped in someone’s pram.”

“You never know what Axis does during the day,” Ms Crow said.

Ms Crow said they were proud to be a cat family to the pair and had their hands full with the energetic duo.

“They like to play zoomies around the house, usually after dinner time,” she said.

These kitties are all shortlisted and in the running to be crowned Cairns’ cutest cat.
