Alleged hit and run

A 17-YEAR-OLD Earlville girl was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle after she was allegedly involved in a hit and run incident on Thursday. Police will allege at around 1.30pm, the girl was travelling in an allegedly stolen bronze Toyota Rav 4 which failed to stop at a red traffic control light at the intersection of Mccoombe and Kingsford Streets, Mooroobool. The Rav 4 collided with a grey Mitsubishi Pajero.

The girl ran from the scene before being located a short time later and arrested by police. She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court this month.
