POLICE APPEAL FOR HELP WITH MAN’S ID

A MAN allegedly involved in the assault of a Gordonvale woman late last year remains unidentifi­ed and Cairns police have released CCTV footage in an appeal to the public for assistance in finding him.

The 45-year-old woman was driving through Cairns North about 1.30pm on Saturday, October 30 when she stopped her car on McLeod St – between the intersecti­ons of Lily and Arthur streets – and was allegedly assaulted by a man unknown to her.

The man proceeded to run away along McLeod St before police arrived at the scene.

Police have released home security camera footage as they appeal once again to community members for help in identifyin­g the man.

They have encouraged anyone who may recognise him from the footage or onlookers to come forward.

Drivers who travelled through the area at the time of the incident with dash cameras in their vehicles have been asked to check any footage that might provide useful informatio­n in the search.
