‘FIERCE’ AMBER A ‘CHARITY CHEATER’
VIRGINIA: Johnny Depp’s security guard in Australia, Malcolm Connolly, said he observed Depp’s then wife Amber Heard “screaming and shouting” in the house the couple rented in Queensland in 2015 – as evidence surfaced that she may have cheated a charity and children’s hospital out of millions of dollars.
“Amber appears and she’s screaming, berating him, f--off with your guys, that’s all you ever do … you f-----coward,” Mr Connolly told the court during Depp’s $US50m defamation case against her.
During the argument in the house, Mr Connolly testified that Heard’s demeanour was “crazy, crazy, fierce”.
Mr Connolly, who worked as security for Depp for 18 years, said during that time he witnessed “Amber screaming … shouting and bawling … more often than not”.
It comes as it was revealed that Heard sought a big cash pay-off from Depp in exchange for keeping details of their volatile relationship private.
A new court filing shows the May 24, 2016 letter from Heard’s lawyer Samantha Spector sought a lucrative arrangement to “do everything possible to keep this matter out of the media”.
Earlier, the court was presented with evidence that showed the actress had failed to pay most of the millions of dollars from her divorce settlement with Depp to a civil liberties charity and a children’s hospital – as she had publicly promised to do.
The funds and the gesture of donating them are partly what secured Heard her role as American Civil Liberties Union ambassador – and landed her the opportunity to write an opinion piece for The Washington Post in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. That article was picked up by other news outlets who named Depp as being her alleged abuser.
