SAFETY TECH FOR BUSES

-

THE tragic events in Rockhampton, only two years after the Edmonton bus tragedy, highlight one thing - humans can’t be trusted to follow protocols.

So maybe it’s time we found a technological answer. A facial recognition camera that logs every child on to a bus, with another that logs them off again, linked to an alarm, would be a relatively cheap and easy thing to install. Nothing new needs to be invented. We just need to adapt existing technology to the task. So let’s take this out of the bounds of human frailty, and let technology do the work. Our kids are too precious not to.
