Fatal crash in Mareeba
A 59-YEAR-OLD Mareeba man died following a single vehicle crash on Friday afternoon.
A passing motorist found the man unconscious at the wheel of a white 2017 Ford Ranger dual cab utility just before 4pm.
The man who died had been travelling east on Herberton St, near the intersection of Walsh St.
An off-duty nurse attempted to resuscitate the man while waiting for emergency crews to reach the scene.
The man was taken to Mareeba Hospital in critical condition, but died later.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said it was believed that the cause of death was medical.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
