NEW SPLASH PARK DESIGNS REVEALED

CONCEPT designs for Mareeba Splash Park have been released by Mareeba Shire Council, which says it is still being workshopped with final designs yet to be determined.

Residents have mixed

feelings about news the state government will provide $1.5m for a new splash park as well as Mareeba aquatic centre upgrades. Unlike many splash parks across the state including Muddy’s in Cairns, it will not be free for kids to

play. Mareeba Shire Council confirmed fees would apply as it would be located at the aquatic centre.

Entry fees $4 for adults, $2.50 for children, $3 for pensioners and $1.50 for spectators.
