A MEDITERRANEAN party island inspired sunset session will launch at a beachside location this week, and residents at the paradisiacal Far North hotspot are invited.
Luxury five-star resort the Sheraton Grand Mirage Port Douglas will kick off a regular three-hour Sunday sip alongside its gorgeous lagoon pools overlooking the swaying palms of Four Mile Beach this weekend.

said he was excited to launch a new monthly event, where visitors and locals could come together to enjoy the resort’s iconic lagoon pools usually reserved for resort guests only.
“We are excited to bring this unique event to Port Douglas where visitors and locals come together in a special location inside the resort usually exclusively available to guests in residence.
“Sheraton’s heart is, and always has been in community,” he said.
Marketing director Deb McDiarmid said it was just the latest in a string of signature experiences at the resort. “Globally, our brand celebrates human connections and the communities where our hotels are located,” she said.
“We are hoping Sheraton Sunset Sessions will be embraced by locals and visitors alike, so we can all come together here in the tropical north and enjoy great food and drinks, served up with chill out music at this very special time of day.”
Tickets start at $50 per person, but for those wanting the full island experience, poolside cabanas with drinks and chef-inspired food can be booked for $500.
