WHO IS WHYE CHUNG HO?

-

SINGAPORE brothers Whye Chung Ho and Whye Tong Ho have been slowly divesting their Australian property portfolio with a fresh push to sell the headland, which they bought in 1994 when they owned the luxury Novotel Palm Cove Resort, now known as the Grand Chancellor Palm Cove.

The headland was first listed in 2014 and again in 2019 but was withdrawn as the Covid pandemic emerged. In Singapore, Whye Chung Ho has been in residential property development for more than 20 years, with an empire extending to Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. Commercial and residential investments since the early 1980s have included the Hyatt Kingsgate Hotel at Kings Cross and Birkenhead Point shopping in Sydney. Whye Chung Ho sold his Bellevue Hill home for $25.5m. His former Sydney home was Glanworth at Darling Point, bought in 1994 for $8.5m from James Fairfax and sold in 1998 for $9.5m to Kerry Stokes.
