Wimmera tops regional house-price growth

Details from a private Housing Market Report show Wimmera houseprice growth in 12 months leading up to November last year as more than 10 times the regional Victorian average.

The figures, from National Australia Bank and Corelogic RPO Data, showed house-price growth at 5.8 percent in comparison with the regional Victorian average of 0.5 percent.

The Wimmera rates second in the state behind Melbourne, which recorded a 13.7 percent home-value increase in value.

The report pairs findings from Corelogic RP Data with NAB Economics’ expectatio­ns for the market to help customers looking to enter the property market.

Increase in home values in 12 months to November, 2016: Melbourne 13.7 percent; Wimmera 5.8 percent; Goulburn 4.7 percent; Ovens-murray 4.6 percent; Mallee 4.2 percent; Western District 3.3 percent; Barwon 3.2 percent; Loddon 2.7 percent; Central Highlands 2.3 percent; Gippsland 2 percent, East Gippsland 1.3 percent.
