Golfers prepare for Horsham

Wimmera District Senior Ladies Golf Association will turn its attention to a Horsham event from 9.30am on March 17 after hitting off its 2017 season at Nhill.

The association is inviting women over 50 to attend.

Last week, 16 players from Nhill, Horsham, Minyip, Drung, Rainbow, Dimboola and Kaniva took part in the season opener in perfect weather and golfing conditions.

Eunice Ferguson of Nhill won division one on 31 points, on a countback from Jenny Creek, also of Nhill.

Division two winner was Catherine Kennedy, Kaniva, on 35, from Mary Jones, Nhill, runner-up on 33.

Nhill’s Marg Bound won a super vet prize with 30 points with Dulcie Webb runner-up on 27.
