Pink Lady Day

Organisers of a Pink Lady Day at Horsham Golf Club hope to raise more than $2000 for breast cancer support on March 20.

Monday golf co-ordinator Julie Obst said the event, now in its seventh year, had significance for many of the region’s golfers.

“We started this event in honour of a special lady who was part of our Monday competition but is no longer with us due to breast cancer,” she said.

“Breast cancer touches a lot of people in our region and we are grateful to the people who support our annual Pink Lady Day. We had 114 compete last year and we hope for a similar number this year.”

The nine-hole event is open to all female golfers, with no handicap or membership required.

Teams will be drawn for a four-person ambrose, with golfers to assemble at 8am for an 8.30am shotgun start.

The day’s major prize is a ladies Swarovski watch, valued at $600, sponsored by Mackay’s Leading Edge Jewellers.

There will be nearest the pins and straightest drive categories in two divisions. Entry is $15 and players are encouraged to wear something pink. People can submit entries at Horsham Golf Club’s pro shop or call Julie on 0447 689 713 for more information.
