New dentist for health service

Dr Sam Robinson Wimmera Health new dentist.

Dr Robinson, who completed five years of dental studies with La Trobe University, is originally from the region.

He has had placements at Wodonga, Ballarat, Mildura and Bendigo.

Dr Robinson said he was lucky to be sponsored by West Wimmera Health Service and he appreciate­d the organisati­on’s support while he was at university.

“I am very excited to be back working in my home town and the region where I grew up,” he said.

“I love playing and watching sport, and am enjoying getting back into playing basketball, tennis and golf.

“I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and always strive to create an atmosphere that puts people at ease, and dispelling the myth that going to the dentist is always a painful and uncomforta­ble experience.

“I assure you it is definitely not.”

People can make appointmen­ts with Dr Robinson at Nhill on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

He visits Kaniva every fortnight and also Rainbow, where his next visit will be on April 6.

Oral health therapist Ian Nicdao, who treats children and young adults aged up to 18 years, visits Kaniva each is West Service’s month. His next visit is on March 24. He also visits Rainbow monthly, with his next visit on Tuesday.

Other dental services, including a mobile dental van, are available at West Wimmera Health Care clinics.
