Op­por­tu­nity for ‘lo­cal’ per­form­ers

The 10th an­nual Hor­sham Coun­try Mu­sic Fes­ti­val is much more than con­certs and pro­fes­sional per­form­ers.

The event also pro­vides an op­por­tu­nity for Wim­mera coun­try-mu­sic artists to strut their stuff and con­tin­ues to grow in pop­u­lar­ity.

A fes­ti­val ‘lo­cal artist’ fea­ture will be on the Fri­day of the fes­ti­val in the heart of Hor­sham’s cen­tral busi­ness district in Roberts Place.

Per­for­mances, with Lyall Wheaton and Di Trot­ter as em­cees, run from 10am to 4pm, and this year fea­ture 12 artists.

In re­cent years the lo­cal artists seg­ment has in­cluded nine guests who per­formed for 20 min­utes. This year the 12 artists will each have an op­por­tu­nity to per­form for half an hour. The line-up in­cludes The 2Ps, Don Mitchell and John Smith, Lawrence Coun­try and Norm and Mar­lene Mclean of Hor­sham, Christine John­son of Stawell, Ron Pan­nan of Na­timuk, The Stumps from Mur­toa, Leo Tellef­son, Don­ald, San­dra Loats, Ru­pa­nyup, A. J. Bunn, Pomonal and Penny Burke, Pimpinio.
