Call for Wimmera-mallee water-panel representatives

-

The organisation in charge of the Wimmera-mallee’s domestic water supply wants people to put their hands up to join an independent panel to provide advice on water pricing.

Gwmwater is making the call as part of an intense period of customer and stakeholder engagement designed to influence and shape the future of the corporation.

It has called for expressions of interest from water customers to join a deliberative panel to provide opinion, advice and recommendations on the corporation’s pricing proposals and other matters of significance.

A panel report will be part of a 20182023 Water Price Review Submission to the Essential Services Commission.

Gwmwater managing director Mark Williams said the panel would represent the corporation’s broad customer base and report to the Gwmwater board.

“The panel’s purpose is to help inform us of community preferences regarding service provision and future pricing,” he said. “We’re inviting applications from community members, landholders, business owners and other interested people to participate in our deliberative panel.

“If successful, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with 14 other motivated individuals from all walks of life, who live and work in the Wimmera-mallee.

“The panel will be a significant voice and fulfil an important role in driving our Water Price Review consultation and engagement program. It’s community participation at its best.”

People keen to join the panel can find out more and fill out an expression-of-interest form online at www. gwmwater.org.au /news.
