East Grampians Health Service Auxiliary will help drive away the autumn chill with its annual lunch at Willaura.

This year’s ‘From the Orchard’ lunch at Willaura Hall on May 2 will feature guest speaker Rob Pelletier, radio personality and owner of Heritage Fruit Trees near Beaufort.

Mr Pelletier is a horticulturist whose career has included landscaping, media work and farming.

He lives with his wife Kate Blood on their Beaufort farm, where he manages Heritage Fruit Trees which has a collection of more than 400 pommefruit varieties and propagates a comprehensive range of fruit trees sold nationally.

During a media career of more than 30 years, Mr Pelletier has been on radio throughout Australia, providing gardening and environmental commentary, presented gardening stories on national television and written for newspapers and magazines.

Mr Pelletier is a foundation member of the Horticultural Media Association and has been a member and leader in community organisations for many years, including Rotary, Landcare and The Beaufort and Skipton Health Service Foundation.

EGHS auxiliary president Margie Kilpatrick said the annual Willaura lunch was always popular.

“Our guests get to enjoy a delicious lunch, browse through craft and produce stalls and listen to entertaining guest speakers,” she said.

“This year’s guest Rob Pelletier promises to be very entertaining as well as informative.”

People keen to book for the lunch can call Leonie King on 5352 4550 or Kathy Tucker on 5354 7579 by April 25. Tickets are $30.
