John Clarke dies in the Grampians
Iconic Australasian comedian and political satirist John Clarke, 68, died while bushwalking in Grampians National Park.
Clarke died of natural causes after collapsing on a track near Mt Abrupt in the south-east Grampians about 11am, Sunday.
Clarke had gone bushwalking in the national park after finishing the second-season shooting of ABC TV program The EX-PM on Friday.
Clarke, born in New Zealand, has appeared on Australian telelvision since the late 1970s.
His death prompted an outpouring of tributes from a broad cross section of society from politicians to the entertainment fraternity.
