Fam­i­lies gather at Wil­laura

Or­gan­is­ers of 2017 Royal Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal Good Fri­day Ap­peal ac­tiv­i­ties at Wil­laura have hailed the event as an­other suc­cess­ful day, rais­ing $12,000.

Wil­laura dis­trict lo­cals and vis­i­tors alike made the most of au­tumn sun­shine and a chance to re­lax with friends and fam­ily at the fam­ily fun day.

Wil­laura branch of the Good Fri­day ap­peal hosted the event.

A tra­di­tional fish and chip lunch was pop­u­lar, with vol­un­teers serv­ing about 380 meals to par­tic­i­pants. A spin­ning wheel, jump­ing cas­tle and model train ran all day, and there were many other ac­tiv­i­ties that kept peo­ple in­volved.

The crowd also made the most of an op­por­tu­nity to look over a dis­play of vin­tage cars cour­tesy of Grampians Vin­tage Ve­hi­cle Club.

A wood auc­tion drew gen­er­ous bids and ev­ery load was sold. A raf­fle was also well sup­ported.

Or­gan­is­ers thanked pa­trons and ev­ery­one who do­nated time, food and equip­ment.
